The radar coverage calculations incorporate the full  six DOF radar trajectory. 

 
                                                                                       


 

 
 

The radar is located at the point Pm.

     αr  is the radar pointing angle.

     ζ is the radar squint angle.

     β is the horizontal radar half beamwidth                        
     γ is the vertical radar half beamwidth.

 

 The ellipse depicts one of the possible 3-dB
illuminated shapes and areas on the ground.

   For each radar position, the new footprint
shape and area is calculated .
